The talented students of Western Port Secondary College are back behind the microphone, bringing listeners another fantastic collection of podcasts as part of their exciting partnership with Radio Western Port.
In this series, students explore a range of topics that are informative, engaging and relevant to both the school and the wider Hastings community.
🏘️ Community Events – Presented by Tyra Whitlow and Alexis Humphrey, this segment keeps listeners up to date with what's happening around Hastings. The students discuss the closure of Domino's Hastings as part of wider global store closures, while also highlighting exciting new businesses opening in the area, including Frozen St on High Street, the Deep-Water Lounge and an upcoming convenience store. Their discussion celebrates the ever-changing local community while encouraging listeners to support local businesses and stay connected with what's happening close to home.
🏕️ Year 7 Camp – Join Alexis Humphrey, Amelia Moore, Ayden Stow and John Rees as they reflect on one of the biggest highlights of the school year. Through an interview-style discussion, they share their favourite camp activities, memorable moments, delicious meals, cabin groups, new friendships and the much-loved talent show. The students also explain what they learned from camp, how it helped build confidence and teamwork, and why they would encourage future Year 7 students to embrace the experience.
🎭 Music & Legally Blonde – Maddie Forecast takes listeners behind the scenes of Western Port Secondary College's production of Legally Blonde. Maddie explores the progress of rehearsals, the dedication of the cast and crew, and the incredible work taking place behind the scenes to bring the musical to life. The segment celebrates the creativity, teamwork and passion of students involved in the Performing Arts program and provides an exciting glimpse into this year's production.

This episode shines a spotlight on student voice, music, leadership, community connection, and school spirit across the Western Port community.
The show opens with Music Makes You Lose Control, hosted by Liam Ricard, exploring how music can lift energy, build confidence, and shape the atmosphere of a great show.
William Parker and Maddie Forecast then reflect on the recent Open Night performances, sharing standout moments, audience reactions, and recognising the students and music that helped make the evening memorable.
We also head behind the scenes of the upcoming school production of Legally Blonde in a special pre-recorded interview featuring Ms Mackenzie, Hayley Greensmith, Rocky Puglisi, Indy Bellinger, Sylas Barker, and Alexis Humphrey. The team discusses how the production came together, what rehearsals have been like, cast experiences, and reveals the answer to the question everyone’s asking: who’s playing the dog?
Maddie Forecast, John Rees, and Alira Friday bring listeners up to date with community events and school-community connections, including highlights from the Western Port Open Night and excitement surrounding the grand opening of the new local frozen yogurt store.
